DOZENS OF CHILDREN ATTACK A CAR WITH PAINT
10 POUNDS (INCLUDING CAR WASH)
DURING A STREET PARTY, local children were invited to completely cover my car with poster paint.
At first, they were somewhat incredulous, looking to their uneasy parents for assurance that my invitation was indeed genuine.Such is the awe and respect we give to cars that such a violation was difficult to phathom.
However, once they got into it, it proved difficult to stop them. The children became progressively more messy and anarchic. The younger children had no reservations about splashing paint all over the car.
By the event's end, children were abandoning brushes in favour of hands and feet, and even picking up the little ones, dipping their feet in paint, and using the little children as human paint brushes.
The end result was so satisfying, that I parked the car in a garage for months, only taking it out on sunny days so as not to harm the paint. It began flaking off and losing its colour and eventually, with regret, I washed the car in November.
Although my tests conducted ahead of time demonstrated the paint was not harmful to the car's paint job, this proved not to be the case after the paint was left on for many months, and the paint job has been tarnished and cracked. Still, it was worth it.
